Poor thyroid conversion could be holding you back

Introduction:
Hey thyroid warriors! If you've been battling fatigue, brain fog, and weight gain despite being on medication, you might be dealing with the often-overlooked culprit – poor thyroid hormone conversion. This is the core issue that I encounter in 100% of my thyroid patients, driving a bulk of their symptoms. Let's dive into what poor conversion means and how it impacts your overall well-being.
Think of thyroid hormone conversion like turning crude oil into gasoline for your car. The inactive hormone T4 is our crude oil, and the active hormone Free T3 is our gasoline. We can't fuel our cars with crude oil, just as we can't fuel our bodies without converting T4 into Free T3. If the conversion is poor, your body isn't getting the fuel it needs to function optimally.
Now, you're probably wondering, "How do I know if I have a conversion disorder?" The answer lies in testing your hormones. While checking your TSH is important, it's equally crucial to monitor your Free T4, Free T3, and Reverse T3 levels.
Here's a quick guide:
- Free T4: If your Free T4 is consistently above 1.2, it may indicate a conversion issue.
- Free T3: If your Free T3 is consistently below 3.6, it's another sign of poor conversion.
- Reverse T3: A Reverse T3 level above 18 suggests a reasonably significant conversion issue.
Take note of these numbers, share them with friends, and keep them handy for future reference. Knowledge is power! Understanding your hormone levels is crucial for addressing the root cause of thyroid symptoms. Armed with this knowledge, you can take proactive steps toward thyroid wellness.
Don't let poor thyroid hormone conversion be the silent disruptor in your health journey. Together, let's unlock thyroid wellness and spread the word about the importance of understanding our bodies.
